Try using perhaps salon formulas?

If you want to spend that kind of money anyway, go into your local salon and see what they recomend... that is perfectly free, tell them you dont wanna spend an arm and a leg and they will ususally give you the names of store brands which can help as you didn't say what you wanted the stuff to do, smooth, defriz?.... or whatever...What is the best shampoo and cream rinse for long course thick hair?
Since your hair is course and thick you might want to think about getting it layered! Layers are so much fun to style and if you dont have time your hair still looks great! Pantine Pro-V is very good at smoothing hair and making it look shiny and silky feeling. For your hair I wouldn't use the volumizing one, probably the Ice shine or the moisturizing one would work best!

Good luck!
Pantene
Vo5 Shampoo and Conditioner is great for your type of hair.
I have long thick fine straight hair and use Pantene Moisturizing 2-in-1 shampoo. While my hair is still wet and before I try to brush it, I apply Frizz-Ease Hair Serum to give my hair ';slipability'; and to lock in the moisture to reduce frizz. Works great and adds shine to my hair, especially now that I'm getting a touch of grey.
