The basic standard for travel by air for liquids, gels, or pastes is:
Carry-on: Items must be 3 oz (100 ml) or less and they must all fit into a one quart (';medium'; sized) closed zip-lock type bag. You are only allowed one bag per person. If you check the TSA website you will find this indicated as the 3-1-1 rule.
Check luggage: There are no size restrictions for liquids, gels, or pastes in checked luggage so you can pack larger sizes in here. I would recommend however that they be placed is a sealed plastic bag to protect you other items against possible leakage.
Bringing items on the plane: As mentioned, there are size restrictions however items purchased after you clear security are exempted from this regulation and can legally be brought on the plane. If, however, you change planes and have to go through security again they must be consumed prior to that or they will be confiscated.

It has to be under 100ml if you're travelling to Europe.
Check the rules and regulations on your airline website, they may say that you need to take it in a small clear plastic bag.Can I carry shampoo, sun cream, toothpaste, in my luggage when I fly to Europe?
Yes. Check the TSA rules Not the airlines. The TSA determines what, including you, is allowed through security, not the airlines. www.tsa.gov.
Yup. In the luggage you check onto the plane you can pack all the liquids you want (well, you know). With carry-on it has to be under 100ml (3 oz.) - including drinking water.
you can bring all those things but the size of each will be limited in your carry on luggage. Each container is limited to 3 ounces when in your carry on luggage.
not in hand luggage unless under 100ml
